SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being

  • A Women’s Health Camp (Khule Bolo Campaign) was organized. Two female gynecologist specialists attended the camp. The camp provided essential medical advice and treatment for polycystic ovarian syndrome, irregular cycles, acne and hirsutism, endometriosis, iron and vitamin D deficiencies, thyroid-related problems, breast and uterine cancer, and other health issues.

  • On the occasion of World Pharmacist Day, a Women’s Health Camp (Khule Bolo Campaign) was organized at Shamsun Nahar Hall under the initiative of DUCSU. In this camp, a medicine specialist, a gynecologist, and a dermatologist provided free health services to female students.

  • The Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology and Cancer Care and Research Trust Bangladesh jointly organized a day-long international conference titled “Molecular Insights, Therapeutics Advances & Policy Innovation in Cancer Care.” The inaugural session had the Chief Advisor’s Special Assistant as Chief Guest and the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) of Dhaka University as Special Guest. The keynote speaker was world-renowned geneticist Emeritus Professor Sir Walter Bodmer from Oxford University.

  • A day-long symposium titled “Strengthening Industry-Academia Partnership in Healthcare and Material Science” was held jointly by the Faculty of Pharmacy, the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, and various pharmaceutical companies.

  • The Department of Microbiology organized a seminar on “International Microorganism Day 2025.” The Executive Director of icddr,b delivered the keynote speech at the seminar.

  • A delegation of 8 members led by Mr. Ichiro Adachi, Senior Specialist of the Global Environment Division, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), visited Dhaka University and met with the Vice-Chancellor. During the meeting, they discussed the proper implementation of the joint collaborative research project “Implementing Water Quality Monitoring and Purification Technologies to Mitigate Health Risks for Antimicrobial Resistances (AMR) in the Dhaka Metropolitan Area,” funded by JICA and JST. Dhaka University will act as the implementing institution, and Professor Dr. Anwar Hossain from the Department of Fisheries will serve as the Principal Investigator for the Bangladesh part of the project.

SDG 4: Quality Education

  • With financial support from Turkey’s largest private aid organization IDDEF, the central mosque of Dhaka University will be reconstructed. The mosque complex will include facilities for education and research along with all modern amenities. IDDEF’s International Coordinator met with the Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University to discuss various aspects of the mosque complex construction. Currently, digital surveys and final design preparation for the reconstruction are underway. After signing a Memorandum of Understanding between Dhaka University authorities and IDDEF, construction work is expected to begin soon.

  • The Department of Law of Dhaka University, in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO), organized an international conference titled “Academic Partnerships for Labour Law and International Labour Standards.” The Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) addressed the event as Chief Guest.

  • World Pharmacist Day was celebrated jointly by the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Department of Pharmacy.

  • The Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of Italy in Dhaka discussed with the Vice-Chancellor the further expansion of the ongoing Italian language program at the Modern Languages Institute. They emphasized joint collaborative education and research between Dhaka University and top universities in Italy in international relations, language, and culture. They also discussed bringing teachers from Italy to teach Italian as well as hiring local instructors.

  • A four-member delegation led by Ms. Yutianqi, Deputy Director of the Language Education and Cooperation Center under the Ministry of Education, China, met with the Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University. They discussed strengthening ongoing joint education and research programs on language and culture between Dhaka University and Chinese universities. They also explored possibilities for joint degree programs, capacity-building programs, and training programs in artificial intelligence technology.

SDG 5: Gender Equality

  • During a syndicate meeting, Dhaka University renamed a center as the “Centre for Gender and Development Studies.”

  • Women’s Health Camps provided health services specifically for female students.

SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth

  • Under the initiative of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, a student team from Dhaka University presented their PowerPoint concept paper on “Youth Participation in Politics and the Future of Democracy” before the jury board for the National Policy Competition.

  • The final round of the National Policy Competition, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Dhaka University chapter, was held on the theme “Youth Participation in Politics and the Future of Democracy.” The champion team was from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA). The first runner-up was the team from the Public Administration Department, and the second runner-up was a joint team from the Criminology and Economics Departments. The event was presided over by the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration). Guests included the Vice-Chancellor, Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, DUCSU Treasurer, Proctor, Director General of Press Institute of Bangladesh, DUCSU VP, and Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The champion team received BDT 45,000, the first runner-up BDT 30,000, and the second runner-up BDT 15,000. The champion team will participate at the national level competition.

 

SDG 3: সুস্বাস্থ্য ও কল্যাণ (Good Health and Well-being)

  • ওমেন্স হেলথ ক্যাম্প (খুলে বলো ক্যাম্পেইন) অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। দুইজন গাইনী বিশেষজ্ঞ নারী চিকিৎসক এই ক্যাম্পে উপস্থিত ছিলেন। ওমেন্স হেলথ ক্যাম্পে পলিসিস্টিক ওভারিয়ান সিনড্রোম, ইরেগুলার সাইকেল, একনি ও হিরসুটিজম, এন্ডোমেট্রিওসিস, আয়রন ও ভিটামিন ডি ঘাটতি, থাইরয়েড জনিত সমস্যা, স্তন ও জরায়ু ক্যান্সার এবং অন্যান্য স্বাস্থ্য সমস্যার প্রয়োজনীয় চিকিৎসা পরামর্শ প্রদান করা হয়।

  • ওয়ার্ল্ড ফার্মাসিস্ট ডে উপলক্ষ্যে ডাকসুর উদ্যোগে শামসুন নাহার হলে ওমেন্স হেলথ ক্যাম্প (খুলে বলো ক্যাম্পেইন) অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। এই ক্যাম্পে একজন মেডিসিন বিশেষজ্ঞ, একজন গাইনি বিশেষজ্ঞ এবং একজন চর্ম বিশেষজ্ঞ চিকিৎসক ছাত্রীদের ফ্রি স্বাস্থ্যসেবা প্রদান করেন।

  • জেনেটিক ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং ও বায়োটেকনোলজি বিভাগ এবং ক্যান্সার কেয়ার অ্যান্ড রিসার্চ ট্রাস্ট বাংলাদেশের যৌথ উদ্যোগে “Molecular Insights, Therapeutics Advances & Policy Innovation in Cancer Care” শীর্ষক দিনব্যাপী আন্তর্জাতিক সম্মেলন অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। সম্মেলনের উদ্বোধনী পর্বে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন প্রধান উপদেষ্টার বিশেষ সহকারী, বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রো-ভাইস চ্যান্সেলর (শিক্ষা)। মূল বক্তা হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন বিশ্বখ্যাত জেনেটিসিস্ট অক্সফোর্ড বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ইমেরিটাস অধ্যাপক স্যার ওয়াল্টার বোডমার।

  • ফার্মেসী অনুষদ, ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং এন্ড টেকনোলজি অনুষদ এবং বিভিন্ন ওষুধ কোম্পানির যৌথ উদ্যোগে “Strengthening Industry-Academia Partnership in Healthcare and Material Science” শীর্ষক দিনব্যাপী সিম্পোজিয়াম অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে।

  • অণুজীব বিজ্ঞান বিভাগের সহযোগিতায় “International Microorganism Day ২০২৫” শীর্ষক সেমিনার অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। icddr,b এর Executive Director সেমিনারে মূল বক্তা হিসেবে বক্তব্য প্রদান করেন।

  • ঢাকাস্থ জাপান ইন্টারন্যাশনাল কো-অপারেশন এজেন্সি (জাইকা) এর গ্লোবাল এনভায়রনমেন্ট শাখার সিনিয়র বিশেষজ্ঞ মি. ইচিরো আদাচির নেতৃত্বে ৮-সদস্যবিশিষ্ট একটি প্রতিনিধিদল ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উপাচার্যের সঙ্গে সাক্ষাৎ করেছে। সাক্ষাৎকালে তাঁরা জাইকা এবং জেএসটির অর্থায়নে “Implementing Water Quality Monitoring and Purification Technologies to Mitigate Health Risks for Antimicrobial Resistances (AMR) in the Dhaka Metropolitan Area” শীর্ষক একটি যৌথ সহযোগিতামূলক গবেষণা প্রকল্পের সুষ্ঠু বাস্তবায়নের ব্যাপারে আলোচনা করেন। উল্লেখ্য, ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় এই প্রকল্পের বাস্তবায়নকারী প্রতিষ্ঠান হিসেবে কাজ করবে। ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় মৎস্যবিজ্ঞান বিভাগের অধ্যাপক ড. আনোয়ার হোসেন এই প্রকল্পের বাংলাদেশ অংশে প্রধান গবেষক (Principal Investigator) হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করবেন।

SDG 4: গুণগত শিক্ষা (Quality Education)

  • তুরস্কের সর্ববৃহৎ বেসরকারী সাহায্য সংস্থা IDDEF-এর আর্থিক সহযোগিতায় ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় কেন্দ্রীয় মসজিদ পুনর্নির্মাণ করা হবে। এই মসজিদ কমপ্লেক্সে শিক্ষা ও গবেষণার সুযোগসহ সব ধরনের আধুনিক সুযোগ-সুবিধা থাকবে। ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উপাচার্যের সঙ্গে সাক্ষাৎ করে IDDEF-এর আন্তর্জাতিক সমন্বয়ক বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মসজিদ কমপ্লেক্স নির্মাণের বিভিন্ন দিক নিয়ে আলোচনা করেন। উল্লেখ্য, ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় কেন্দ্রীয় মসজিদ কমপ্লেক্স পুনর্নির্মাণের লক্ষ্যে বর্তমানে ডিজিটাল সার্ভে ও চূড়ান্ত নকশা প্রণয়নের কাজ চলছে। ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় কর্তৃপক্ষ এবং IDDEF কর্তৃপক্ষের মধ্যে এবিষয়ে একটি সমঝোতা স্মারক স্বাক্ষরের পর শিগগিরই নির্মাণ কাজ শুরু হবে বলে আশা করা যাচ্ছে।

  • ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় আইন বিভাগ এবং ইন্টারন্যাশনাল লেবার অর্গ্যানাইজেশন (ILO)-এর যৌথ উদ্যোগে ‘Academic Partnerships for Labour Law and International Labour Standards’ শীর্ষক এক আন্তর্জাতিক সম্মেলন অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। প্রো-ভাইস চ্যান্সেলর (শিক্ষা) অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে বক্তব্য রাখেন।

  • ফার্মেসী অনুষদ এবং ফার্মেসী বিভাগের যৌথ উদ্যোগে ওয়ার্ল্ড ফার্মাসিস্ট ডে উদযাপিত হয়।

  • ঢাকাস্থ ইতালি দূতাবাসের ডেপুটি হেড অফ মিশন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের আধুনিক ভাষা ইনস্টিটিউটে চলমান ইতালীয় ভাষা শিক্ষা প্রোগ্রাম আরও সম্প্রসারণের বিষয়ে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উপাচার্যের সঙ্গে মতবিনিময় করেন। ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় এবং ইতালির শীর্ষস্থানীয় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়সমূহের মধ্যে আন্তর্জাতিক সম্পর্ক, ভাষা ও সংস্কৃতি বিষয়ে যৌথ সহযোগিতামূলক শিক্ষা ও গবেষণা কার্যক্রম চালুর উপর তাঁরা গুরুত্বারোপ করেন। আধুনিক ভাষা ইনস্টিটিউটে ইতালীয় ভাষা বিষয়ে পাঠদানের জন্য ইতালি থেকে শিক্ষক আনার পাশাপাশি স্থানীয় শিক্ষক নিয়োগের বিষয়েও তাঁরা মতবিনিময় করেন।

  • চীনের শিক্ষা মন্ত্রণালয়ের ভাষা শিক্ষা ও সহযোগিতা কেন্দ্রের উপ-পরিচালক মিস ইউতিয়ানকি’র নেতৃত্বে ৪-সদস্য বিশিষ্ট একটি প্রতিনিধিদল ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উপাচার্যের সঙ্গে সাক্ষাৎ করেছে। এসময় তাঁরা ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় এবং চীনের বিভিন্ন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মধ্যে ভাষা ও সংস্কৃতি বিষয়ে চলমান যৌথ সহযোগিতামূলক শিক্ষা এবং গবেষণা কার্যক্রম আরও জোরদার করার ব্যাপারে আলোচনা করেন। এছাড়া, তাঁরা ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় এবং চীনা বিভিন্ন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মধ্যে যৌথ ডিগ্রি প্রোগ্রাম, সক্ষমতা বৃদ্ধি প্রোগ্রাম এবং কৃত্রিম বুদ্ধিমত্তা প্রযুক্তি বিষয়ে প্রশিক্ষণ কর্মসূচি চালুর সম্ভাব্যতা নিয়ে আলোচনা করেন।

SDG 5: লিঙ্গ সমতা (Gender Equality)

  • ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সিন্ডিকেট সভায় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের একটি সেন্টারের নাম পরিবর্তন করে “Centre for Gender and Development Studies” করা হয়েছে।

  • ওমেন্স হেলথ ক্যাম্পে মেয়েদের স্বাস্থ্যসেবা প্রদান করা হয়েছে।

SDG 8: সুস্থ কর্ম এবং অর্থনৈতিক বৃদ্ধি (Decent Work and Economic Growth)

  • যুব ও ক্রীড়া মন্ত্রণালয়ের উদ্যোগে জাতীয় নীতি প্রতিযোগিতায় অংশগ্রহণের জন্য ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষার্থী দল ‘রাজনীতিতে তরুণদের অংশগ্রহণ ও গণতন্ত্রের ভবিষ্যৎ’ বিষয়ে ধারণাপত্রের Power Point Presentation জুরি বোর্ডের সম্মুখে উপস্থাপন করেছে।

  • যুব ও ক্রীড়া মন্ত্রণালয়ের আয়োজনে জাতীয় নীতি প্রতিযোগিতার ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় চ্যাপ্টারের চূড়ান্ত পর্ব অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। ‘রাজনীতিতে তরুণদের অংশগ্রহণ ও গণতন্ত্রের ভবিষ্যৎ’ শীর্ষক নীতি প্রতিযোগিতার চ্যাম্পিয়ন হয়েছে ইনস্টিটিউট অব বিজনেস অ্যাডমিনিস্ট্রেশন (আইবিএ)-এর টিম। প্রথম রানার্স আপ হয়েছে লোক প্রশাসন বিভাগের টিম এবং দ্বিতীয় রানার্স আপ হয়েছে অপরাধবিজ্ঞান বিভাগ ও অর্থনীতি বিভাগের যৌথ টিম। প্রো-ভাইস চ্যান্সেলর (প্রশাসন)-এর সভাপতিত্বে অনুষ্ঠানে অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন উপাচার্য, যুব ও ক্রীড়া মন্ত্রণালয়ের সচিব, ডাকসুর কোষাধ্যক্ষ, প্রক্টর, প্রেস ইনস্টিটিউট অব বাংলাদেশের মহাপরিচালক, ডাকসুর ভিপি এবং যুব ও ক্রীড়া মন্ত্রণালয়ের যুগ্ম সচিব। চ্যাম্পিয়ন দলকে ৪৫ হাজার টাকা, প্রথম রানার্স আপকে ৩০ হাজার টাকা এবং দ্বিতীয় রানার্স আপকে ১৫ হাজার টাকা পুরস্কার দেওয়া হয়। চ্যাম্পিয়ন দল জাতীয় পর্যায়ে প্রতিযোগিতায় অংশ নেবে।
