SDG 1: No Poverty

News related to providing financial support, scholarships, or initiatives to reduce poverty:

  1. MUFG Bank Scholarship for Students
    Mr. Kenji Kimura, Managing Director of Japan’s MUFG Bank Limited (Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group), paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor. Mr. Ahmas Savim Rab, another official of the bank, accompanied him.
    During the meeting, they discussed financial support for underprivileged students at the University of Dhaka, among other topics. The Vice-Chancellor requested the Managing Director’s support to increase the number of scholarships for students at the University.
    Notably, the Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Foundation provides scholarships to 24 students at Dhaka University annually, with each student receiving USD 450 per year.

  2. Scholarships and Trust Funds for Students
    Based on good conduct, regular class attendance, and satisfactory academic progress, scholarships were awarded to students in various departments:

  • 6 students from the Department of Political Science received the Political Science Peer Forum Trust Fund Scholarship (one-time BDT 12,000).

  • 2 students from the Department of Educational and Counseling Psychology received the Alhaj Shamsuddin Hafiz & Tayyaba Begum Trust Fund Scholarship (monthly BDT 200 for one year).

  • 4 students from the Pharmacy Department received the Ashraf Dola Memorial Trust Fund Scholarship (one-time BDT 18,000).

  1. Rabea Mobarak Memorial Scholarship
    Underprivileged students of the 2023 academic year from the Department of Soil, Water & Environment will receive a monthly scholarship of BDT 500 for one year. All students from 2nd-year B.Sc. (Honours) to postgraduate level are eligible to apply. Applications must include the student’s name, academic year, class, roll number, and hall.

  2. Additional Scholarships

  • Five students from the 1st-year undergraduate program of the Department of Information Science & Library Management received a total scholarship of BDT 150,000 (each student receiving BDT 30,000 one-time).

  • Monthly and one-time scholarships were also awarded to students of Physics, Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College, Biomedical Physics, and Development Studies.

  • Students from the Faculties of Accounting & Finance, Sociology, and Engineering & Technology also received one-time and monthly scholarships.

SDG 2: Zero Hunger

News related to food security, nutrition, and improving access to meals:

  1. Medical Center Modernization for Health and Nutrition Support
    The Vice-Chancellor inspected the progress of an ongoing project worth approximately BDT 27.5 million to modernize the Shaheed Buddhijibi Dr. Mohammad Mortaza Medical Center and strengthen emergency medical services.
    The inspection was attended by the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration), Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Chairman of the Department of Microbiology, Associate Professor of the Department of World Religion & Culture, Chief Medical Officer of the Medical Center, TIKA Bangladesh Country Coordinator, DU Vice President, and student union leaders.
    Under the project, a modern ambulance, 10 air conditioners, X-ray machine, ECG machine, analyzer, microscope, hospital beds, cabinets, chairs, desks, and other medical equipment and furniture have been installed. An emergency unit has been set up on the ground floor, and remaining renovation work will soon be visible.
    Additionally, the Rotary Club of Gulshan Tigers donated an RO Water Filter to the medical center.

  2. Canteen and Hostel Food Facilities

  • The canteen of Kobi Jasim Uddin Hall has been renovated. New plastering has been done on walls and ceilings, four stoves in the kitchen have been repaired, and tiles have been installed on the floors. The canteen was expanded by removing the wall between the canteen and the laundry area.

  • The hall laundry has also been renovated, including repairs to walls and ceilings, and a new water house was constructed for washing clothes.

SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being

News related to health services, medical infrastructure, emergency response, and wellness:

  1. Medical Center Modernization (as above under SDG 2)

  2. AI in Biomedical and Healthcare Research
    The 39th Annual International Conference of the Bangladesh Society of Microbiologists (BSM) was held at the Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building under the theme “Microbiology for Sustainable Development.”
    In the opening ceremony, the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) highlighted the importance of microbiome-based research.
    A total of 288 abstracts were accepted, presented across 12 technical sessions, including 2 plenary lectures, 8 papers, 6 invited talks, 4 Young Scientist Talks, 58 oral presentations, and approximately 226 poster presentations.

SDG 4: Quality Education

News related to improving access to education, scholarships, skill development, research, and international collaboration:

  1. Integrating AI into Teaching and Learning Workshop
    A workshop titled “Integrating AI into Teaching and Learning: Exploring Good Practice” was held at Dhaka University. It discussed modern approaches to academic assessment and teaching methods. The Vice-Chancellor was the chief guest, and the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) and British Council Bangladesh Country Director Stephen Forbes attended as special guests.

  2. Winter School and Seminars
    A four-day winter school was organized by the Bangladesh Institute of Islamic Thought (BIIT) in collaboration with the Department of World Religion & Culture at Dhaka University, the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT), and the Fairfax Institute. 70 students from 30 public and private universities participated.
    The opening ceremony was attended by the Vice-Chancellor as chief guest, with the chairman of the Department of World Religion & Culture and BIIT academic fellow as special guests. The winter school included sessions for knowledge exchange, research discussions, and contemporary global issues.

  3. International Collaboration

  • Delegations from universities in Pakistan, China, Canada, South Korea, and Australia discussed opportunities for joint education and research with Dhaka University.

  • Emphasis was placed on research, student-teacher exchange programs, training, and AI-based education and health research collaborations.

  1. Admission Exams and Results

  • Admission tests for various units including Fine Arts, Business Studies, Law, and Social Sciences were conducted smoothly and peacefully.

  • Students can access their results online via the DU website and SMS notifications.

  1. Scholarships for Academic Excellence (also relevant to SDG 1)

  • One-time and monthly scholarships were awarded to students from various departments, including Information Science & Library Management, Psychology, Biochemistry, Physics, Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College, Biomedical Physics, and Development Studies.

SDG 5: Gender Equality

News related to women’s empowerment, women’s access to education, and initiatives supporting female students:

  1. Bangladesh-China Maitree Hall for Female Students
    The Chinese government is financially supporting the construction of Bangladesh-China Maitree Hall at Dhaka University at an estimated cost of BDT 244 crore. A Chinese expert team visited the Jagannath Hall area to finalize the project site.
    Earlier, the team, led by Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen, met the Vice-Chancellor for discussions. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan, expressed gratitude to the Chinese government and Ambassador for supporting female student accommodation. The hall will house 1,500 students once completed.

  2. Sanitary Vending Machine for Female Students
    The Dhaka University Alumni Association donated a sanitary vending machine for the Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall, which will soon be installed and accessible to students.

  3. Female Student Participation in Campus Events

  • Female students from various hostels participated in the Victory Day and Shaheed Buddhijibi Day celebrations.

  • Students and teachers from Rokeya Hall, Shamsun Nahar Hall, and Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall participated in wreath-laying ceremonies at the National Memorial.

  • Health, safety, and cleanliness initiatives have been implemented in residential halls.

SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation

News related to access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene:

  1. RO Water Filter Installation at Medical Center
    The Rotary Club of Gulshan Tigers donated an RO Water Filter to the Shaheed Buddhijibi Dr. Mohammad Mortaza Medical Center, providing safe and clean water for patients, doctors, and staff.
    The Chief Medical Officer stated, “This RO Water Filter will ensure the use of clean water in hospital operations and support patient health safety.”

  2. Sanitation Facilities in Hostels
    New toilets, washrooms, and sanitary vending machines have been installed in Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall, Rokeya Hall, and other male and female hostels. These facilities will help students maintain regular hygiene and ensure health protection.

SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy

News related to sustainable energy, electricity, and energy-efficient infrastructure:

  1. Energy Efficiency in Campus Buildings
    New energy-saving lights have been installed in residential halls of Dhaka University. Lighting services inside and outside the halls have been modernized while reducing electricity usage. Ceiling fans and LED lights were installed in various rooms to ensure student convenience.

  2. Power Supply for Labs and Research Facilities
    New electrical equipment has been installed at Shaheed Buddhijibi Medical Center and the Faculty of Pharmacy. Safe and stable power supply has been ensured for X-ray machines, ECG machines, analyzers, microscopes, and other devices.

SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth

News related to skill development, career opportunities, and workforce growth:

  1. Vocational Training and Internship Opportunities
    Dhaka University provides students of the Department of International Relations with training and research opportunities under the project “Globalization, Climate Change and Bangladesh Foreign Policy.” Students gain practical experience in international policy and research methods, supporting future career and skill development.

  2. Collaboration with Pharma and Healthcare Industry
    A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Faculty of Pharmacy and Healthcare Chemicals Limited. This partnership allows students to gain real-world industrial experience and internships.
    The Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) said, “Partnerships like this are crucial for improving students’ professional skills.”

  3. Student Leadership and Skill Programs
    The Optica Student Leadership Program helps students develop leadership, teamwork, and scientific research skills, preparing them for future employment in science and technology sectors.

SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure

News related to innovation, research infrastructure, and campus modernization:

  1. Modernization of Medical Center (also relevant to SDG 3 & 6)
    The Shaheed Buddhijibi Dr. Mohammad Mortaza Medical Center has been modernized with new ambulances, X-ray machines, ECG, analyzers, microscopes, hospital beds, cabinets, chairs, and desks. A new emergency unit has also been established.

  2. Research Labs and AI Integration
    Workshops and seminars on AI-based research and modern teaching methods have been conducted by the Faculty of Pharmacy in collaboration with international institutes. Students gain skills in new technologies and innovative research methods.

  3. Campus Infrastructure Upgrades

  • Renovation of buildings in the Jagannath Hall area, Kobi Jasim Uddin Hall, and other student halls.

  • Modernization of canteens, laundries, seating areas, lighting, and furniture.

  • Installation of modern equipment in the medical center, pharmacy faculty, and research labs.

SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities

News related to reducing social, gender, and educational inequality:

  1. Scholarships for Underprivileged Students (also relevant to SDG 1 & 4)
    One-time and monthly scholarships were awarded to deserving students from various departments, including: Jerin Ilhan Inika, Fabiha Mehjabin, Kaniz Fatema Tanisha, Md. Robiul Hasan Siam, Tasfiq Saif, Md. Sarwar Hossain Tanvir.
    Scholarships were provided to students in Political Science, Pharmacy, Information Science, Soil-Water-Environment, Biochemistry, Physics, Medical, Biomedical Physics, Development Studies, Engineering, Accounting, and Sociology.

  2. Female Student Accommodation and Facilities (also relevant to SDG 5)

  • Bangladesh-China Maitree Hall project to house 1,500 female students.

  • Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall and Rokeya Hall equipped with sanitary vending machines, chairs, and bunk beds.

SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities

News related to campus planning, green initiatives, and community development:

  1. Campus Modernization and Renovation

  • Renovation of multiple halls and buildings at Dhaka University.

  • Kobi Jasim Uddin Hall canteen renovated: wall and ceiling plastering, floor tiles, and kitchen stoves repaired.

  • Laundry walls and ceilings repaired, new water house constructed.

    Dhaka University has launched initiatives to stop burning fallen leaves, teaching students environmentally friendly behavior. Waste segregation systems for recyclable materials have been installed, and students are encouraged to reduce plastic and other waste.

  2. Eco-friendly Events and Celebrations

  • Environmental awareness emphasized during the 30th Fast Night festival (ban on fireworks and balloons).

  • Plastic use minimized during national days and campus events.

  • LED lights, energy-saving fans, and modern electrical equipment installed.

    Students of the Department of International Relations received training and research experience under the project “Globalization, Climate Change and Bangladesh Foreign Policy,” gaining practical knowledge on climate change, international policy, and Bangladesh’s coordinated actions.

  • Initiatives to stop burning fallen leaves, maintain a pollution-free, bird-friendly, and green environment.

    The “Every Contribution Matters” International Volunteer Day was celebrated at Dhaka University.
    Transparency International Bangladesh organized an Anti-Corruption Cartoon Competition to raise awareness among students and encourage social responsibility.

  • The university administration, halls, and student council collectively ensure a peaceful, orderly, and accountable educational environment.

SDG 1: No Poverty

News related to providing financial support, scholarships, or initiatives to reduce poverty:

  1. MUFG Bank Scholarship for Students

জাপানের এমইউএফজি ব্যাংক লিমিটেড (মিতসুবিশি ইউএফজে ফাইন্যান্সিয়াল গ্রুপ)-এর ব্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালক মি. কেনজি কিমুরা উপাচার্যের সঙ্গে সৌজন্য সাক্ষাৎ করেছেন। এসময় একই ব্যাংকের কর্মকর্তা মি. আহমাস সাভিম রব তাঁর সঙ্গে ছিলেন।

সাক্ষাৎকালে তাঁরা ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অসচ্ছল শিক্ষার্থীদের আর্থিক সহায়তা প্রদানসহ বিভিন্ন বিষয়ে আলোচনা করেন। উপাচার্য ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য বৃত্তির সংখ্যা বৃদ্ধির ক্ষেত্রে এমইউএফজি ব্যাংকের ব্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালকের সহযোগিতা কামনা করেন।

উল্লেখ্য, জাপানের মিতসুবিশি ইউএফজে ফাইন্যান্সিয়াল ফাউন্ডেশন প্রতিবছর ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ২৪ জন শিক্ষার্থীকে বৃত্তি প্রদান করে। প্রত্যেক শিক্ষার্থীকে প্রতিবছর ৪৫০ মার্কিন ডলার করে বৃত্তি প্রদান করা হয়।

  • এডুকেশনাল এন্ড কাউন্সেলিং সাইকোলজি বিভাগের ২জন শিক্ষার্থীকে আলহাজ্ব শামসউদ্দিন হাফিজ ও তৈয়বা বেগম ট্রাস্ট ফান্ড বৃত্তি (মাসিক ২০০ টাকা, এক বছরের জন্য)
  • ফার্মেসী বিভাগের ৪জন শিক্ষার্থীকে আশরাফ দোলা মেমোরিয়াল ট্রাস্ট ফান্ড বৃত্তি (এককালীন ১৮,০০০ টাকা)
  1. Rabea Mobarak Memorial Scholarship

মৃত্তিকা, পানি ও পরিবেশ বিভাগের ২০২৩ সালের অসচ্ছল ছাত্র/ছাত্রীদের মাসিক ৫০০/= টাকা হারে এক বছরের জন্য রাবেয়া মোবারক স্মারক বৃত্তি প্রদান করা হবে। মৃত্তিকা, পানি ও পরিবেশ বিভাগের ২য় বর্ষ বি. এস (সম্মান) শ্রেণি থেকে স্নাতকোত্তর শ্রেণি পর্যন্ত অধ্যয়নরত সকল ছাত্র-ছাত্রী এই বৃত্তির জন্য আবেদন করতে পারবে। ছাত্র/ছাত্রীর নাম, শিক্ষাবর্ষ, শ্রেণি, রোল নং ও হলের নাম উল্লেখ করতে হবে।

  • তথ্যবিজ্ঞান ও গ্রন্থাগার ব্যবস্থাপনা বিভাগের প্রথম বর্ষ আন্ডারগ্র্যাজুয়েট প্রোগ্রামের ৫জন শিক্ষার্থীকে ১ লাখ ৫০ হাজার টাকা বৃত্তি প্রদান করা হয়েছে। প্রত্যেক শিক্ষার্থী এককালীন ৩০ হাজার টাকা করে বৃত্তি লাভ করেছে।
  • পদার্থবিজ্ঞান, শহীদ সোহ্রাওয়ার্দী মেডিকেল কলেজ, বায়োমেডিকেল ফিজিক্স এবং ডেভেলপমেন্ট স্টাডিজসহ বিভিন্ন বিভাগের শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য মাসিক ও এককালীন বৃত্তি প্রদান করা হয়েছে।
  • একাউন্টিং, ফিন্যান্স, সমাজবিজ্ঞান ও ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং এন্ড টেকনোলজি অনুষদের শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য এককালীন ও মাসিক বৃত্তি প্রদান করা হয়েছে।

SDG 2: Zero Hunger

News related to food security, nutrition, and improving access to meals:

  1. Medical Center Modernization for Health and Nutrition Support

শহিদ বুদ্ধিজীবী ডা. মোহাম্মদ মোর্তজা মেডিকেল সেন্টারের আধুনিকায়ন ও জরুরি চিকিৎসা সেবা জোরদার করতে প্রায় ২ কোটি ৭৫ লক্ষ টাকার চলমান প্রকল্পের অগ্রগতি পরিদর্শন করেছেন উপাচার্য।

মেডিকেল সেন্টার পরিদর্শনকালে আরও উপস্থিত ছিলেন প্রো-ভাইস চ্যান্সেলর (প্রশাসন), ফার্মেসী অনুষদের ডিন, অণুজীব বিজ্ঞান বিভাগের চেয়ারম্যান, বিশ্ব ধর্ম ও সংস্কৃতি বিভাগের সহযোগী অধ্যাপক, মেডিকেল সেন্টারের প্রধান মেডিকেল অফিসার, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA)-এর বাংলাদেশ কান্ট্রি কো-অর্ডিনেটর, ডাকসুর ভিপি, ডাকসুর ছাত্র পরিবহন সম্পাদক, বিজ্ঞান সম্পাদক ও বিভিন্ন হল সংসদের নেতৃবৃন্দ।

প্রকল্পের আওতায় ইতোমধ্যে একটি আধুনিক অ্যাম্বুলেন্স, ১০টি এয়ার কন্ডিশনার, এক্স-রে মেশিন, ইসিজি মেশিন, এনালাইজার, মাইক্রোস্কোপ, হাসপাতাল বেড, আলমিরা, চেয়ার, ডেস্কসহ বিভিন্ন চিকিৎসা সরঞ্জাম ও আসবাবপত্র প্রদান করা হয়েছে। এছাড়া নিচতলায় ইমার্জেন্সি ইউনিট স্থাপন সম্পন্ন হয়েছে এবং বাকি সংস্কার কাজ দ্রুত দৃশ্যমান হবে।

এদিকে রোটারি ক্লাব অব গুলশান টাইগার্স-এর পক্ষ থেকে শহিদ বুদ্ধিজীবী ডা. মোহাম্মদ মোর্তজা মেডিকেল সেন্টারে একটি RO Water Filter হস্তান্তর করা হয়।

  1. Canteen and Hostel Food Facilities

ক) কবি জসীম উদ্দীন হল ক্যান্টিন সংস্কার করা হয়েছে। ক্যান্টিনের দেয়াল ও সিলিংয়ে নতুন প্লাস্টার স্থাপনের পাশাপাশি কিচেনের চারটি চুলা মেরামত করা হয়েছে। ক্যান্টিনের ভিতরে ও বাইরে রংকরণসহ ফ্লোরে টাইলস স্থাপন করা হয়েছে।

এছাড়া, শিক্ষার্থীদের ক্যান্টিন ব্যবহারের সুবিধার্থে ক্যান্টিন ও লন্ড্রির মাঝখানে অবস্থিত দেয়াল অপসারণ করে ক্যান্টিন সম্প্রসারণ করা হয়েছে।
খ) হল লন্ড্রি সংস্কার করা হয়েছে। লন্ড্রির দেয়াল ও সিলিং মেরামতের পাশাপাশি কাপড় ধোয়ার জন্য নতুন পানির হাউস নির্মাণ করা হয়েছে।

SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being

বাংলাদেশ সোসাইটি অব মাইক্রোবায়োলজিস্টস (বিএসএম)-এর ৩৯তম বার্ষিক আন্তর্জাতিক সম্মেলন নবাব নওয়াব আলী চৌধুরী সিনেট ভবনে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। ÔMicrobiology for Sustainable Development’ শীর্ষক প্রতিপাদ্যে আয়োজিত এই সম্মেলনের উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানে মাইক্রোবায়োমভিত্তিক গবেষণার গুরুত্ব তুলে ধরেন প্রো-ভাইস চ্যান্সেলর (শিক্ষা)।

সম্মেলনে দেশ ও বিদেশের বিজ্ঞানীরা গবেষণা প্রবন্ধ উপস্থাপন করেন। সম্মেলনে সর্বমোট ২৮৮টি সারসংক্ষেপ (Abstract) গৃহীত হবার পর ১২টি টেকনিক্যাল সেশনে ২টি প্লেনারি বক্তৃতা, ৮টি প্রবন্ধ, ৬টি আমন্ত্রিত বক্তৃতা, ৪টি ইয়াং সায়েন্টিস্ট টক, ৫৮টি মৌখিক উপস্থাপনা এবং প্রায় ২২৬টি পোস্টার উপস্থাপিত হয়।

ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে ‘Integrating AI into Teaching and Learning: Exploring Good Practice’ শীর্ষক একটি ওয়ার্কশপ অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। এই ওয়ার্কশপে একাডেমিক মূল্যায়ন ও শিক্ষণ পদ্ধতিতে আধুনিক দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি নিয়ে বিস্তারিত আলোচনা হয়। অনুষ্ঠানে উপাচার্য প্রধান অতিথি এবং প্রো-ভাইস চ্যান্সেলর (শিক্ষা) ও ব্রিটিশ কাউন্সিল বাংলাদেশের কান্ট্রি ডিরেক্টর স্টিফেন ফোর্বস বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

বাংলাদেশ ইনস্টিটিউট অব ইসলামিক থট (বিআইআইটি) এর উদ্যোগে এবং ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বিশ্ব ধর্ম ও সংস্কৃতি বিভাগ, আন্তর্জাতিক ইনস্টিটিউট অব ইসলামিক থট (আইআইআইটি) ও ফেয়ারফ্যাক্স ইনস্টিটিউট এর যৌথ সহযোগিতায় চার দিনব্যাপী উইন্টার স্কুল কার্যক্রম ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে শুরু হয়েছে। এতে দেশের ৩০টি সরকারি ও বেসরকারি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মোট ৭০ জন শিক্ষার্থী অংশ নিচ্ছেন।

উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানে উপাচার্য প্রধান অতিথি এবং বিশ্ব ধর্ম ও সংস্কৃতি বিভাগের চেয়ারম্যান এবং বিআইআইটি’র একাডেমিক ফেলো বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন। চার দিনব্যাপী উইন্টার স্কুলে জ্ঞান-বিনিময়, গবেষণাধর্মী আলোচনা এবং সমসাময়িক বৈশ্বিক বিষয়াবলির ওপর বিভিন্ন সেশন অনুষ্ঠিত হবে।

চীন সরকারের আর্থিক সহযোগিতায় ২শ’ ৪৪ কোটি টাকা প্রাক্কলিত ব্যয়ে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ছাত্রীদের জন্য বাংলাদেশ-চীন মৈত্রী হল নির্মাণ প্রকল্প বাস্তবায়নের কাজ শিগগিরই শুরু হচ্ছে। এই প্রকল্পের স্থান নির্ধারণের জন্য চীনের একটি বিশেষজ্ঞ দল জগন্নাথ হল এলাকা পরিদর্শন করে।

এর আগে, চীনের রাষ্ট্রদূত ইয়াও ওয়েন-এর নেতৃত্বে বিশেষজ্ঞ দলটি উপাচার্যের সঙ্গে এক মতবিনিময় সভায় মিলিত হয়। উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক ড. নিয়াজ আহমদ খান ঢাবির ছাত্রীদের জন্য হল নির্মাণে সহযোগিতা করায় চীনের সরকার ও রাষ্ট্রদূতকে আন্তরিক ধন্যবাদ জানান।

ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় অ্যালামনাই অ্যাসোসিয়েশনের পক্ষ থেকে শেখ ফজিলাতুন্নেছা মুজিব হলের ছাত্রীদের জন্য একটি স্যানেটারি ভেন্ডিং মেশিন গ্রহণ করা হয়েছে। মেশিনটি শিগ্গিরই স্থাপন করে হলের ছাত্রীদের জন্য উন্মুক্ত করা হবে।

রোটারি ক্লাব অব গুলশান টাইগার্স শহিদ বুদ্ধিজীবী ডা. মোহাম্মদ মোর্তজা মেডিকেল সেন্টারে একটি RO Water Filter হস্তান্তর করেছে। এটি মেডিকেল সেন্টারে রোগী, ডাক্তার এবং স্টাফদের জন্য নিরাপদ ও বিশুদ্ধ পানি সরবরাহ নিশ্চিত করবে।

মেডিকেল সেন্টারের প্রধান মেডিকেল অফিসার বলেন, “এই RO Water Filter হাসপাতালের কার্যক্রমে বিশুদ্ধ পানি ব্যবহারের নিশ্চয়তা দেবে এবং রোগীর স্বাস্থ্য সুরক্ষায় সহায়ক হবে।”

  1. Volunteer and Anti-Corruption Initiatives

‘Every Contribution Matters’ আন্তর্জাতিক স্বেচ্ছাসেবক দিবস ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে উদযাপিত হয়েছে।

Transparency International Bangladesh Anti-Corruption Cartoon Competition-এর আয়োজন করা হয়েছে। এতে শিক্ষার্থীরা দুর্নীতির বিরুদ্ধে সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধি এবং সামাজিক দায়বদ্ধতা নিয়ে কাজ করছে।

  1. Strengthening University Governance
  • ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় এবং বিভিন্ন আন্তর্জাতিক বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মধ্যে শিক্ষাবিনিময়, নীতি ও গবেষণা আলোচনা।
  • বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় প্রশাসন, হল ও শিক্ষার্থী সংসদ মিলিত হয়ে শান্তিপূর্ণ, সুশৃঙ্খল এবং দায়বদ্ধ শিক্ষাব্যবস্থা নিশ্চিত করছে।
  1. Community Engagement and Student Participation
  • শহিদ বুদ্ধিজীবী ও বিজয় দিবস উদযাপনসহ শিক্ষার্থীদের বিভিন্ন অনুষ্ঠান ও সামাজিক কর্মকাণ্ডে অংশগ্রহণ।
  • শিক্ষার্থী ও শিক্ষকরা একসাথে জাতীয় ও আন্তর্জাতিক দিবস উদযাপনে অংশ নিয়ে শান্তি, সংহতি ও সমাজকল্যাণে অবদান রাখছে।

  • পাকিস্তান, চীন, কানাডা, দক্ষিণ কোরিয়া, অস্ট্রেলিয়া এবং যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়গুলোর সঙ্গে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় যৌথ শিক্ষা ও গবেষণা কার্যক্রম বাস্তবায়ন করছে।
  • শিক্ষার্থী ও শিক্ষক বিনিময়, প্রশিক্ষণ, গবেষণা প্রকল্প এবং AI ভিত্তিক শিক্ষা ও স্বাস্থ্য গবেষণায় সহযোগিতা বৃদ্ধি করা হচ্ছে।
  1. Corporate and NGO Partnerships
  • ফার্মেসী অনুষদ ও হেলথকেয়ার কেমিক্যালস লিমিটেডের সঙ্গে যৌথ সমঝোতা স্মারক।
  • রোটারি ক্লাব অব গুলশান টাইগার্স-এর সঙ্গে মেডিকেল সেন্টারে RO Water Filter প্রদান।
  • বিদেশি কনসোর্টিয়াম ও শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলোর সঙ্গে পরিবেশ, সমুদ্র ও জলবায়ু গবেষণার জন্য যৌথ প্রশিক্ষণ।
