The University of Dhaka (DU) remained a central actor in Bangladesh’s SDG policy ecosystem in 2024, contributing expertise to national governance, regulatory institutions, and regional cooperation platforms. Building on its long-standing role in public leadership, DU faculty and alumni shaped SDG-aligned policy across multiple sectors, as documented in the events and appointments listed in the SDG file.

Regional & Multilateral Engagement
DU contributed to the D-8 NPRI Summit (2024), participating in discussions on innovation policy, cross-border research, and collaborative development pathways. This expanded DU’s footprint in South–South development partnerships. The summit was attended by Prof Mamun Ahmed (Pro Vice Chancellor, Academic) and Prof Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Treasurer), leading to partnership with COMSAT and Pakistan Higher Education Commission.
Civil Society & NGO Partnerships
Events such as the Environment & Innovation Summit & Awards 2024 (28 December) convened environmental activists, youth leaders, private sector stakeholders, and policymakers, highlighting DU’s convening power for cross-sector sustainability action.
