Programs for Services Access

The University of Dhaka undertakes multiple institutional initiatives to improve access to basic services through capacity building, service process simplification, and digital transformation. These programs aim to enhance the quality, efficiency, and accessibility of services provided to students, staff, and the wider community, thereby contributing to inclusive service delivery and poverty reduction.

Capacity Building for Improved Public Service Delivery

The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the University of Dhaka regularly organizes training programs and seminars for university officers and staff. These initiatives focus on improving service delivery standards, responsiveness, and accountability, with particular emphasis on providing efficient and citizen-friendly services. Through such training, university personnel are better equipped to serve students and members of the public, ensuring smoother access to essential administrative and academic services.

Digital Skills Training for Service Accessibility

To simplify service processes and reduce administrative barriers, the university—under the supervision of the Institute of Information Technology (IIT)conducts computer and digital literacy training programs for officers and staff. These include training on Microsoft Excel and other essential computer applications, which enhance administrative efficiency and data management. Improved digital competency directly contributes to faster service delivery, reduced delays, and improved access to university services for all users.

E-Governance and Service Process Simplification

As part of its commitment to administrative reform and citizen service facilitation, the University of Dhaka is implementing the D-Nothi (digital file management) system. In 2024, the university conducted D-Nothi training programs and Training of Trainers (ToT) sessions to prepare administrative personnel for the transition to digital governance. The introduction of D-Nothi aims to reduce bureaucratic complexity, increase transparency, and ensure quicker access to administrative services for students, staff, and external stakeholders.

Community-Relevant Training and Development Programs

Beyond internal administrative reforms, academic units of the university also organize community-oriented training programs, such as development-focused certificate courses and workshops, which build capacity among participants engaged in community service delivery. These programs enhance participants’ understanding of inclusive development, participatory approaches, and service accessibility, indirectly improving access to basic services at the community level.

Impact

Through institutional training, digital capacity building, and administrative modernization, the University of Dhaka strengthens access to essential services and reduces procedural barriers that disproportionately affect disadvantaged groups. These initiatives demonstrate the university’s commitment to promote inclusive, efficient, and accessible service delivery systems that support poverty reduction and social equity.
