Dhaka University has publicly pledged to transition its entire campus toward 100% renewable energy, positioning itself as a national leader in sustainable energy transformation. The pledge, first announced in 2021, outlines the University’s vision to become the country’s first fully solar-powered campus, replacing conventional grid electricity with clean, renewable sources.

This commitment has since been reinforced through the approval of DU’s long-term masterplan in 2025, which includes a three-phase infrastructural transformation carried out over fifteen years.
