Promoting conscious water usage in the wider community
During the DU Golden Jubilee (7–13 December 2024), LifeStraw Bangladesh set up community water booths, providing safe drinking water to all participants.
This initiative not only supplied water but also demonstrated sustainable water use practices and promoted the reduction of plastic bottle usage in the wider community.
DU conducted workshops, seminars, and public lectures on water quality, pollution, and water security, targeting the general public, government agencies, and local stakeholders.
Various departments actively contributed to community-centered research and discussions, highlighting the importance of water security in urban and peri-urban areas.
