Dhaka University ensures democratic participation in its Senate, the supreme authority of the University, through elected representation from faculty, students, and graduates. Out of 105 members:
35 are elected teachers, chosen directly by peers through election.
25 are elected registered graduates, including alumni and non-faculty professionals.
5 are student representatives nominated by DUCSU.
The Senate also includes members from government, parliament, and affiliated colleges, ensuring diversity in governance. This structure demonstrates DU’s century-long commitment to participatory and accountable decision-making.
