The University of Dhaka provides local farmers and food producers with access to its facilities, technologies, and research resources to support sustainable farming practices and strengthen food security. This access is facilitated through multiple academic units, including the Institute of Nutrition and Food Science, Institute of Health Economics, Departments of Oceanography, Soil, Water and Environment, Fisheries, Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and Microbiology.
These departments and institutes allow farmers and producers to utilise university laboratories, experimental plots, demonstration farms, plant and aquaculture stocks, and relevant technologies under guided supervision. Such access enables practical application of scientific knowledge and supports the adoption of improved cultivation, aquaculture, and soil and water management techniques.
