In 2024, Dhaka University established the “Dhaka University Fund for Financially Challenged Students” with the objective of providing financial and educational support to female students in need.

Under this fund, during the 2023–2024 academic year, a total of 585 female students received monthly financial assistance of BDT 3,000 each. This initiative aims to ensure that financially disadvantaged female students can continue their education without interruption and fully participate in academic activities.

Additionally, the Department of Women and Gender Studies (WGS) of the university, in collaboration with a brand, organized a menstrual health and sanitary napkin service and awareness campaign on campus. https://www.observerbd.com/news/549919?
